How to Help Prevent Animal Abuse, Save A Dog's Life By WritingNag
Every year millions of dogs and cats are euthanized in local animal shelters. What can you do to help prevent animal abuse and cruelty? If you're a dog, cat or lover of any animal the thought of someone abusing them is heart breaking. But there are simple things you can do to prevent another dog or cat from being abused.
Instructions:
Step 1
If you ever see any evidence of animal abuse or animal cruelty report it to your local humane society immediately. Don't assume another neighbor will call. Animals are depending on you.Check the ASPCA website for help on determining what is animal neglect and cruelty in your state. Take the pledge to stop animal cruelty on the ASPCA website.
Step 2
Support programs that give money directly to the prevention of animal abuse. This may take a little research and you can ask your veterinarian or local animal shelter for help in funding reputable animal organizations.
Step 3
Spay and neuter your dog and cat and encourage others to do the same. Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized every year because of unwanted animals.
Step 4
If you know you don't have the time or the money for a pet, don't get one. Dogs and cats cost thousands of dollars a year to raise, feed and keep healthy with regular veterinarian visits. If you do have the time and the money choose a dog or cat through a local shelter.
Step 5
Buy cosmetics that are not tested on animals. There are many companies that support animal rights. Look for the information on the label or at the company website.
Step 6
Get involved.Sponsor a animal at the ASPCA's website or at your local humane society. Write/e-mail your legislators on animal rights bills. Volunteer at your local shelter.
